This Is Who We Are.

Hybrid Nonprofit's are entities whose operational functions mirror those of for-profit entities. However, unlike for-profit entities, hybrid nonprofit's are not constrained by shareholder value or profit maximization theory. Much like their for-profit counterparts, hybrid nonprofit enterprises provide an array of services, products, and experience in exchange for a fee, donation, and/or funding pledge.

Our Way: The Hybrid Nonprofit Model

The Parity Hub Inc. was founded in 2014 as part of a Master's thesis submitted to Chapman University. The organization was developed to reimagine the nonprofit sector, and its ability to fund and deliver public goods through traditional revenue generating models.

This Is How It Works.

Our budget is constructed by three main sources of funding: enterprise revenue, donations, and grants. Traditionally, charities prioritize donations and grants as their main sources of funding. Parity Hub was created to do the exact opposite.

As such, we prioritize enterprise revenue as a means to provide community resources and funding. Often, people wonder why we would want to invest our profits into the community. Put another way, our intentions are understandably questioned.

Since its inception, Parity Hub was created to demonstrate nonprofits can, and often do, function as efficiently as social businesses and/or B Corps.

We're an example of what nonprofits can do when they run scalable enterprises while mirroring for-profit business economic models instead of adhering to traditional charity models. Ultimately, we sincerely hope our operations exemplify what nonprofits can do when they commit to sustainable solutions and innovative leadership. Interested in our where our revenue goes?

Parity Grants

A bulk of our funding is reserved for the Parity Grant programs, which provide community members with immediate economic relief. We are dedicated to ensuring volunteers receive their grant within 24-72 hours. As such, our volunteer network provides community members with financial resources when they need it: immediately.

Your purchases help us fund the following grants:

1.  Micro-Grant - Caregiver Needs Based

2.  Volunteer Grant -  Available to ALL Parity Hub volunteers

3.  Student Initiative Grant - Available to ALL High School and College Students

There's no fancy way to say this: space is expensive.

We thought it might be nice to book an affordable studio to produce work or an aesthetically pleasing area to finish  writing or a turn key affordable event center.

We all need space, and it's hard to come by these days.

One might say, in general, there is an unmet need for the demand of multi-purpose space.

Parity Hub is adding supply to meet the demand for readily available multi-purpose space; otherwise known as on-demand space.

It seemed like someone should, and so we did.

Commitment

We are committed to providing family friendly spaces and events. In fact, children, their parents, and caregivers were a great consideration throughout the design process. This included ensuring we had an adequate nursing station (along with a sanitized area to store milk), comfortable changing stations, and plenty of emergency kits because kids will be kids.

We also understand charities and nonprofits alike have acquired a bad reputation as a result of the archaic operation models they employ, as well as a clear lack of institutional oversight. In 2013, a report by The Tampa Bay Times and The Center for Investigative Reporting found "collectively the 50 worst charities raised more than $1.3 billion over the past decade and paid nearly $1 billion of that to the companies that raise their donations."

We acknowledge charity fraud has become increasingly popular, which has significantly decreased the sector's legitimacy.

We want you to know that we know our industry, as a whole, is in the business of earning your trust back.

We are committed to earning your business, and in doing so we hope you experience the authenticity behind our brand. We hope to remind people that while it is true bad people do bad things, and sad people do sad things; it is also true good people do good things and happy people do happy things.
